Really important point from Dr Elizabeth Gadd @lizziegadd.bsky.social at #RLUK24 that we need to acknowledge that it isn’t always (or even often?!) easy for researchers to engage with open research. Something we might not want to hear, but something I think we all really know is true and can hopefully help!

There's been a lot of talk abt #OpenAccess books in light of the REF, some of it showing that myths about OA books are still prevalent & understood as absolute fact. E.g. I saw a comment that #OA is impossible for art history books, because you can't get the image rights. 1/

Really enjoyed @katrinesundsbo's gamified workshop on the history of DOAJ, how it came about and changes that have been necessary. Good levels of engagement to leapfrog the afternoon slump 👍 #UKSG2024
