It’s Friday and that means we met with our accountability partners to check in on our goals! Today they heard some hard truths, gave some solid advice, and even celebrated! #LeaderinMe #ClevelandLeads #ClevelandSucceeds

What a great session from Whitnee Grant on Trauma Informed Practices and Balancing Rigor! Great tools and ideas were presented and I can’t wait to implement in the classroom. #SCASCD #LoveScSchools

I think one of the best practices is experimenting before implementing. It’s important that the teacher is familiar and comfortable before introducing students.

I believe it begins with a needs assessment. See where teachers are, set a goal for where teachers should be, and tailor PD towards it. Check to see where technology can enhance the learning experience.

One of the biggest challenges is using it in a way to promote academic growth and achievement and not hinder it. Proper training and professional development allows for technology in the classroom to be a success. #LoveSCSchools @SCASCD

It’s important to meet teachers where they are and to celebrate their success. It’s also equally important that administrators are well-versed in the digital literacy initiatives. It takes a team! #LoveSCSchools @SCASCD

I would suggest looking into initiatives your district already has and see if it fits the needs of your classroom. Also, don’t be afraid to use the teachers in your school who are already doing amazing things! #loveSCschools @SCASCD

So grateful the opportunity to shadow Mrs. Renee Ford at the McCarthy Teszler School in Spartanburg. It’s hard to sum up my experience in words. Shoutout to the athletes and teacher cadets at Spartanburg High School who helped celebrate at the pep rally for the Special Olympics.
