If a director asks you to write a cue, and then you go through 20 rounds of notes until its perfect... did you compose it or did the director? If you ask an AI to write a cue, adjust the prompt 20 times until its perfect....did you compose it or did the AI.

AI is now at the point that from now on, unless I see people's writing process, I will just assume they didn't write the music they put out. My interest is in the art itself, not just the result. AI will put out some impressive shit. But the prompters didn't create it.

Some people forget music always needs a banana for scale. If you are at 10 all the time it will feel mid. If you go from a 3 to a 10 it’s going to be dramatic. Like everything, musical dynamics are relative to the things around them! (Mostly tweeting so I don’t forget again 😂 )

One of the toughest habits I have had to wriggle out of over the years as a composer is the Mix As You Go method. It is great when you are in the demo phase but ends up being a noose when you get to the notes phase. Decisions 5 revisions ago can hamstring you in the present.
