Seen a caterpillar with a funky hair-do lately? You may have found a tussock moth (Lymantriinae), known for their rather flamboyant larvae. Keep an eye out for tussocks in your area! 😍 Sycamore tussock moth (Halysidota harrisii) in Decatur, GA

Last week, I successfully defended my Ph.D. research proposal titled “Understanding Waterbird Habitat Relations within Antebellum Rice Fields Using Drones and Autonomous Recording Units in Coastal South Carolina, USA.” Excited about the journey ahead!

Life update: My first semester as an assistant professor, I was diagnosed with stage 2 cancer and spent the last 3 months in chemotherapy. An absolutely brutal experience, but I just celebrated my first clean scan & am excited to start next semester from a better place.

Very excited to share this new letter published in Ecology & Evolution emphasizing the importance of data on Hawaii's wetlands. America's favorite tropical getaway has important ecosystems that need our care (malama) and protection. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ec…
