Marketing Report: The IHSAA’s corporate partners now include Dairy West, First Federal Bank, Toyota, McU Sports, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Les Schwab Tires, Jiffy Lube, and AAA. Other partners include Air National Guard, Alliance Sports Marketing, Baden, eTeam, GoFan, Highway

Officials Report: We have an upward trend in the numbers of officials in Idaho. Overall, we are now over 2,300 officials in the state. This is up just over 500 from two years ago. The numbers show that we have more officials in every sport. #IDPreps

Ford Idaho Center: It is currently managed by the City of Nampa. However, it appears that the management will be transitioned to the College of Western Idaho (CWI). The IHSAA has confirmed that everything will be pretty much status quo for state tournament events there. #IDPreps

26-28 Classification Cycle: Here is the new classification structure for the 26-28 school year. As a reminder, this is the general classification and not the sport specific classification. #IDPreps

Action Items - First Readings: 1. 40% Playoff Format Committee Proposal Chad Williams estimates that adding in additional play-in games through the playoff proposal would cost an additional $176,000 overall. 1A through 5A support the 40% playoff format. The 6A’s have proposed

2. Baseball/Softball State Sportsmanship Awards: There are currently no sportsmanship awards at the state baseball and softball tournaments. The proposal is to add them for this coming spring season (2026). Motion passes unanimously. Moves to a final reading. #IDPreps

Discussion Agenda Items: 1. Board Priorities for Classification Committee: The IHSAA board is being asked to prioritize these different items as a way to formulate the IHSAA’s priorities when it comes to the classification committee creating a new classification structure.

2. Proposed Play-In Game Officials: For basketball only (since 3-man crews are used), officials from a neutral district would be used. If not possible, the higher MaxPreps ranked team would get two officials from their district and the lower ranked team would get one official.

3. Rule 13-3-4 regarding Physicals: This is about adding verbiage regarding students submitting a physical form that does not meet IHSAA participation standards. This has been moved to a first reading. #IDPreps

4. IHSAA 5-Year Calendar: Discussion is centering on wanting independent weekends for all state tournaments - is it possible? If so, the current IHSAA calendar will need to change. The question before the board is should they extend the spring sports season past Memorial Day?

5. State Football Brackets: The discussion is about the different styles of football brackets between classifications. The discussion is centering on what guidelines (if any) should the IHSAA board provide for creating these brackets. As of right now, it is the football coaches
