My mum was a founder member of the Green Party, way back when it was still the Ecology Party. I've never been a paid up member of any party. Until today.

If we want an alliance with this party under FPTP (which we absolutely should) it is more important than ever to elect Zack Polanski who can better make common ground with them, and apparently doesn’t find it difficult to say he likes people who aren’t explicitly on his side

Today’s announcement solidifies the need for Zack Polanski’s leadership. The fact so many people have chosen to support a new left wing party, that still doesn’t even have a name, rather than support the Greens, despite our shared values, shows a huge failing on our part.

A useful clarification of the stakes. My own view is clear: we will either have a Red Green alliance and achieve a breakthrough on that basis, or all left projects will fail, leaving only Reform to clean up. Zack has welcomed Zarah’s initiative. Join the Greens and vote for him

Going to be a lone voice here but Adrian Ramsay MP winning his seat was nothing short of incredible, and when he sees Zack’s Greens smashing it alongside the #NewLeft (maybe with joint candidates even) he’ll come round and remain an invaluable asset to the wider progressive left. 🙏
