It’s National Blue Ribbon awards ceremony day in Washington DC. First up was an address from the National Teacher of the Year Missy Testerman from Rogersville, TN.

Blessed to be recognized as a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School and receive the award on behalf of the entire @guerincatholic community!

I’m proud to be in Houston supporting Golden Gears 10021 as they compete in the First Robotics World Championships! So far they are 1-1 . Packed house and so much excitement here for STEM from all over the world.

After every match, the Golden Gears 10021 team holds a recap meeting with coaches and players in their pit. A lot of great collaboration happening!

It was a good first day for ⁦Golden Gears 10021⁩ . They are holding their own on the biggest stage in robotics against teams from all over the world. Keep up the good work!

What happens when Golden Gears 10021 breaks a piece on the hanging support beam of their robot during competition? They have to fabricate a new part and install it…in about 30 minutes!

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Guerin Catholic trip without putting our faith first. We attended Holy Thursday Mass in Latin, and took time on a break Friday to pray Stations of the Cross. Also, team created prayer cards with their patron saint, St Macrina the Younger to hand out.

The World Championships ended on a high note for Golden Gears 10021 - they won their final match and finished ranked 28th out of 79 teams in the division. Word has it we might be the top ranked rookie team in the world. Very impressive showing in this historic season!

After a great visit with Coach Matta, I’m excited to announce my academic and athletic commitment to Butler Basketball. Thanks for all the support Guerin Catholic H.S. Indiana Elite Basketball  #AGTG

Class of 2025 - The stage is set for you!

I’m in Washington DC at The Catholic University of America learning about and celebrating the 100th anniversary of Pierce vs. Society of Sisters where the US Supreme Court ruled a KKK-backed law in Oregon was unconstitutional that mandated all students must attend only public schools.

Looking forward to day 3 in Washington DC where I’ll meet with Secretary McMahon, the Office of Non-public Education and other members of the US DOE to learn about federal programs and advocate for Indiana’s schools.
