I passed my defense. I’m a Dr. Me! 60 years old next month. First gen female BA...now PhD. Grew up in government housing w/ single mom. I wanted this for my mom, too, who runs circles around me. Life dealt her some blows. She taught us we could hard things.

Forget #blended. Go #multimodal. Before deciding what to do #F2F/#remotely, #synchronously or #asynchronously, or which #technology to use, first specify which #learning and #teaching activities you need based on a thorough #analysis of learning goals, learner, teacher & context.

On-campus #teaching is unjustifiable, not only for #COVID19 related reasons, but also because it is based on an outdated instruction-based paradigm. The real discussion isn't F2F versus distance, but #learning versus #instruction. Apply a multimodal approach and see what happens.

Do you own a blended house? Do you drive a blended car? So why do you keep talking about #blendedlearning? We are all trying to create well-designed #multimodal #learning #environments which will probably include #technology that heavily depends on the context and the goals.
