People really need to understand that Mahmoud Khalil’s views are actually irrelevant. What’s being threatened here is the right to protest.

Dear The Economist I still believe that it’s up to the French judicial system - not to public opinion nor a media (albeit authoritative) to apply French law Your opinion is pretty much in line with plutocratic voices & autocratic leaders economist.com/leaders/2025/0…

Remember that this latest round started with Trump demanding a one month unconditional ceasefire. Zelensky agreed, and Putin said no. Then Trump said he'd have to talk to Putin personally to get the ceasefire done. Today he did. Putin still said no. It's so sadly pathetic.

I’m a Marine Corp veteran, trained by LEOs when I served in US embassies on how to handle unruly individuals or protestors. 1) If you are the guys with guns, you are the ones responsible for the situation. Doubly so if you outnumber the person you’re engaging. 2) You do not

As the dollar’s reserve currency status diminishes, so does our ability to tax the world by creating more money. When reserve status is lost, maintaining current spending levels and servicing the debt will be even more painful for Americans who will bear the full inflation tax.

Amazing moment on French TV. A French judge explains how Trump sent people from the US Embassy basically trying to intimidate her during Le Pen's trial for embezzlement - something they've done to other judges around the world My English sub-titles 👇

“Roving bands of masked federal agents with total immunity executing gun owners” is the kind of sweaty conservative fantasy we’ve heard over the last 20 years on cable news and now that it’s here, they love it

Reminder: Minnesota is a concealed/carry state. We don’t know if he had a permit but we do know a holstered weapon is not necessarily illegal.

Let’s stop pretending. Rubio went straight to Orbán and Fico, two of Putin’s closest allies inside Europe, enemies of Ukraine. The message is clear: the U.S. has picked its side, and it’s not with Europe. The U.S. is actively siding against Europe and against freedom itself.

Not to be too pedantic here but based on this explanation it seems that it was Israel that put us at "imminent risk" then?

Attacking water desalination plants is attacking critical civilian infrastructure. It’s with no doubt a war crime. If this escalates the consequences would be grave.
