It’s here, it’s here, it’s HAPPENING, it’s here!!! Wiggling, jiggling gelatinous JOY. Inky full-stops full of amphibious promise, wrapped in a cuddle of gorgeous gloop. Frog season is upon us 😍

What a gorgeous Spring day! 🌞 Here's Dan proving there's no end to his talents by gutter clearing at Minstead Lodge. And in contrast, Jonny and Andy had a relaxed time during tea break enjoying the outdoors. We hope everyone is out and enjoying such a beautiful day ❤️

A lovely half an hour in fading light with a Lesser-Spotted Woodpecker on Dartmoor this afternoon. It's always a shock to be reminded just how small they are. LesserSpot Network

The next few weeks are the best time to find & watch Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers, while they are actively feeding & displaying & before the leaves come out. Where to go? Try your local woods if they had LSW in the past. Otherwise the New Forest still has about 300pairs and 1/2

LesserSpot Network (@lesserspotnet) 's Twitter Profile Photo

2/2 Lesser Spots can also be found in wooded areas of the southern and middle English counties and many RSPB reserves with wet woodland. As we are seeing this year LSW can turn up again in spots where they have not been recorded for years. Keep searching

Wander through a woodland in late winter or early spring and you’re likely to hear bursts of rapid, resonant tapping echoing through the trees. This staccato sound is the work of a woodpecker on a mission. Read more here 👇 hiwwt.org.uk/blog/thewildli…

Great photos Clive! 📷 As the name suggests, cattle egrets can often be seen close to cows, as well as other large grazing mammals. They follow the larger animals around, feeding on the insects and other invertebrates that they disturb. ~ Jack

“One gram of moss from the forest floor, a piece about the size of a muffin, would harbour 150,000 protozoa, 132,000 tardigrades, 3,000 springtails, 800 rotifers, 500 nematodes, 400 mites, and 200 fly larvae. Robin Wall Kimmerer

30 years since CycleWight was formed. No Facebook. No Twitter! No emails. And some things are still the same. Provision for cycling in the Island could still be better. Join us in our celebration on the 29th April and hear about our successes and out campaigns going forward.

Spectacular footage Daniel - thank you for sharing! 📽️ It's hard to appreciate their size until you see them in person. Such an exciting bird to witness. Learn more about these impressive birds of prey here: bit.ly/3viCpA5 ~ Jack
