This is happening in our yard almost all day, every day after a few years of effort planting host plants and providing a seamless sequence of blooms. I've also tried to include as many different flower shapes/sizes as possible to accommodate different insects.

"And so I go to the woods. As I go in under the trees, dependably, almost at once, and by nothing I do, things fall into place. I enter an order that does not exist outside, in the human spaces....I am less important than I thought. I rejoice in that." Wendell Berry (1969)

Ever see a #Monarch pupa in-the-making? The #butterfly features are immediately visible during the #caterpillar’s final moult. 😯

The Assiniboine Park Zoo (Winnipeg) released 13 captive-reared Poweshiek Skipperlings. 13? Not a big deal, right? Wrong! With fewer than 100 in Canada, they are critically endangered, so adding 13 to the wild population is huge! 👏 Kudos, Assiniboine Park Zoo! bit.ly/32NFBUm

The #Monarch Migration is alive and well at the 50th parallel this season! Scores have been spotted at #FlutterbyHQ. Check this out — three on this one swamp #milkweed flower head alone 🤯 #ShareYourMonarchs

Oh dear... This monarch caterpillar thinks s/he’s outsmarted the parasitic wasps by pupating on a Rue plant. Clearly s/he doesn’t know that Rue is a host for black swallowtail caterpillars 🤦‍♀️
