Short video of me playing palos (Afro-Dominican music) during the 2024 fiestas patronales of Monte Plata, my mother's hometown. I play in NY, but it feels different when playing on the island. Atabales, Fiestas Patronales, Monte Plata, 2024 youtu.be/K_zuKCYxinU?si… via YouTube

I've been at the AGI for almost two weeks. The fact that we can now take unlimited pictures makes a really big difference. I will take home a large amount of documents for my second book project. For graduate students, this is also a game changer. Glad the AGI took this step!

¿Alguien tiene fotos de Santo Domingo 178A o 178B del AGI? Tengo que escribir un capítulo sobre la Jamaica española pero el AGI está digitalizando estos legajos ahora y no puedo consultarlos. ¡Gracias por compartir! Hello historians! Does anyone have access to David Murray's "The slave trade, slavery and Cuban independence"? doi.org/10.1080/014403… I am not able to access it through my campus. Thanks in advance.
