You can’t better this!! Go and book a day out at Thirsk Birds of Prey (starring my old pal Nanook the Bald Eagle) (Also they aren’t bald- it comes from old language for ‘white headed’)

A big well done to North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service for the tremendous effort their staff put into the nearby stubble fire yesterday, 9 pumps on site from around 2pm until after dark in blistering heat in full PPE, we take our hats off to you all 👏👏

My Sunshine Over Wildflower Cottage is only 99p on Kindle today. For this one I had to learn to fly birds, I’d always wanted to do it & I made great friends in the process at Thirsk Birds of Prey. I should have tried it YEARS ago. Treat yourself! amazon.co.uk/dp/B0151VOGD4/…

Happy Yorkshire Day everybody! And congratulations to the England women’s football team on their fantastic win last night! We can’t promise any lionesses, but we will have all kinds of creatures – great and small – when we return for a new series soon. Watch this space …

A fantastic organisation that we gladly support, if you have a few pounds spare please consider these dedicated conservationists who need our help to build an emergency centre

And if you’re NOT doing something else, there’s a special #ACGAS edition of The Yorkshire Vet just before (at 8pm). I get to meet some fabulous birds and talk abt Donald Sinclair (the real Siegfried Farnon), who Peter worked with as a young vet. Nick, Anna and Rach are in it too

Hopefully this is the first of many young White-tailed Eagles to fledge from nests in southern England in the coming years. With two other pairs now well established things are certainly looking promising.
