Looks like SEAtS was an expensive experiment, and Goldsmiths paid the price for the SMTs' failings. Staff, students, and our unique place of learning are simply thrown under the bus. Our SMT should be ashamed. Or walk if they had any integrity.

Out in the rain this morning supporting Birkbeck Unison ✊ 3 years after a successful campaign for in-housing, cleaners at Birkbeck have still not been integrated onto the university’s pay scales, losing them £1 an hour! Shame on Birkbeck, and solidarity with their cleaners!

This dispute was always about more than just pay, it was about the collective voice of the workers not being silenced & the members voices at the RSA are as loud as ever! These experienced workers will now support others to start campaigns across the sector. Power building ❤️

This is consistent with my experience having students identify and reflect on their use of genAI in writing assessments. One assessment including the line 'Not worth £20' - critical thinking is of higher value than chatbot text!

Matters are coming to a head at Goldsmiths. We face 130 redundancies which will mean a decimation of departments, particularly in the arts and humanities area. Our union rejects management's financial argument. Goldsmiths UCU
