So today I learned that my endodontist 🦷 refers to me as “Crazy Root Lady” (Because I walked in, and he said, “Crazy Root Lady!”) And I’m trying to figure out if he’s saying Crazy[Root Lady] or [Crazy Root]Lady. 🤔 Like am I a medical marvel or a victim of bullying?? 😩

I played basketball for an HBCU, and we played a team in Pulaski a few times. This was the early 2000s, and our athletic director still had to give us a safety speech before we got off the bus. No Black people in the stands, just on the court. Pulaski still carries this weight.

Meanwhile, Black History Month was established in Canada in 1995, which I learned while attending a whole Black History Month event sponsored by the Canadian Embassy in Lisbon. Canada also had slavery, though on a much smaller scale than in the U.S.
