“well, actually you are what I want, but the drink is a very close second.” he’s teasing, eyes looking at baxter’s face, just taking in all the details.

he walks in, with a grace he didn’t even know he had, but then he’s piling the presents on the couch like he’s told too. “well, you.. mean a lot to me, and I’ll be damned if I don’t celebrate your birthday baxter.”

he takes his own drink, taking a small sip as he keeps his eyes on Baxter, even as he glances away. this man had a hold on him he could’ve never imagined. but god, he feels like the luckiest man on earth.

“well, what kind of..” he trails off, not sure if he and Baxter had settled on a term for what they were yet. “of course there is. your favorite kind to.”

“well, of course it is. I’m here this time.” he teases, eyes glinting as he takes another drink of his drink, smiling as he bumps his hip against baxter’s.

“I’d hope so.” he’s smiling as Baxter pulls him closer by the arm around his waist. “you make it better too ya know? I like gettin’ to see you.”

“of course I did. why wouldn’t I?” he pulls one bag up, pulling baxter’s favorite beer out of it with a big smile.

“hmmm, I know you hate them so I would never subject you to that again.” he teases, an arm wrapping around baxter before he gently turns him, “you wanna check out all the others?”

“I’d like to be your home.” he hopes that comes across in the way he’s meaning it, he just absolutely loves spending time with Baxter.

he kisses baxters cheek, humming softly as he points to one of the smaller ones. “that one. but then the rest are up to you.”

his eyes flicker for a second between baxters eyes and his lips, leaning into his touch before he’s leaning forward and pressing a kiss to his lips. he can’t resist, not when Baxter is being so sappy.

“just because.” he smiles, hand brushing along baxters arm as he just relaxes. it’s not hard to be at ease with Baxter.

“somethin’ that really, really made me think of you.” he’s smiling, he’d gotten him a small stuffed frog. he’s seen it and just had to get it so baxter could think of him when he looked at it.

“oh do you?” he’s smiling, god Baxter just makes him want to be a sap and show so much emotion.

he’s smiling, pressing a kiss to the side of baxters head. “oh am I? I thought it was cute.”

he smirks, kissing baxters cheek before taking a sip of his own drink. “it’s what you get. but there might be more occasionally.”

“pick up the other smaller bag that looks the same.” there’s a small owl in that one, for the wings nickname that Baxter has given him. he’s got a frog and an owl at his place too.

“it’s so you can think of me, if I’m gone, or if you’re gone.” he shrugs, he thought it was cute. a little matching set of a frog and an owl.
