It’s with deep sadness that we announce that our Vice-Chairman, Tom Kilby, passed away yesterday. Tom contributed massively to local cricket over many years as a player, umpire and administrator. Our thoughts are with Tom’s family and friends on this sad day. RIP Tom!

The family of cricket has lost a true friend to the game, Tom lived and breathed cricket at every level. Thoughts from everyone at Essex Cricket are with the family and we would like to thank Tom for everything he gave the game.

Some excellent news this morning that our Publicity Officer Jordan McManus has been appointed to the National Indoor Finals Day at Lord’s on 17th March.

With the season is fast approaching, the Met Essex ACO would like to invite you to an evening with ECB First Class Umpire and Met Essex Member Neil Bainton at Chingford Cricket Club on Monday 26th February at 7.30pm. Aim to meet from 7pm for prompt start at 7.30pm.

Met Essex ACO invite you to an umpires and scorers CPD session on using DLS. This training session will take place on Monday 20th May (note new date) at Chingford Cricket Club at 7.30pm. The session is designed to provide officials with some understanding of how DLS works.
