Yoruba land had curly or coily hair. The ends of their hair would not stand straight and would just curl up. Hence the name kolese. It is a well-known braided hairstyle that is found throughout much of Yorubaland.

Really enjoying Emma Dabiri's 2021 book. It's such a tragedy that within the flood of 'anti-racist', 'allyship', and 'privilege' books, earnest reflections on racism and how to fight it get lumped together with useless crap.

Really appalled British Airways not allowing my 86 year old father to self-declare COVID, requiring him to get a doctor's note in order to 'hold' the ticket to return. They are absolutely fine with Covid-positive people getting on board. And then we wonder why there's a 'spike'.
