This essay explores the issue that Carol Black so neatly captured with the phrase "Unschooling isn't a pedagogical method. It is an ethical stance towards children."

When we trash right wing ideology I don't think we go hard enough against nationalism or masculinism because both are really popular, culturally, and are basically synonymised regularly with competence in various ways, but especially politically.

The screenshotted claim is as ridiculous as claiming that hetero or heterosexual are slurs. It is an attempt to lay such a strong claim for cis being the 'unmarked default' that to even try to talk about it as its own category is disallowed. Fuck that noise.

Another shitty SCOTUS ruling that will have real impact on people's lives because it reinforces the worst and most common bigotries. Thankfully "the Law" doesn't dictate reality - we always retain the power to be good to one another and to the planet.

At its best, "The Law" protects and enforces our greatest hopes for co-existence and continuation. At its worst, it looks far, far worse than these latest rulings. What matters more than any law on the books is how we relate to and support our marginalized communities.

The reason for banal in my thesis title is that growing plants is such an ordinary every day thing to do. It can also be tough and difficult and yet people choose to do it over and over again - and not just for food. Even in WW1 allotmenteers grew flowers as well as food.
