Spent the day at Marble Falls ES learning all about the TEKS resource system for planning from Region 13 reps. So happy my new district values backwards design and unit planning just like I do!!! So many great resources and strategies now! #newteacherPD

This goes against all best practices. You can hold teachers and students accountable for learning, but in a way that humanizes them and gives teachers autonomy. I feel so sad for HISD students and teachers.

I’m sorry, what? Even my 4th graders have a daily snack break and brain breaks. Does Miles and HISD not understand Maslow and needs that have to be taken care before any learning happens? Hungry bellies don’t learn well.

So so grateful that I learned to teach through the Trinity University Department of Education 10 years ago, and was so sad to learn that one of our PDS schools that my supervisor worked so hard to establish a strong relationship with is closing, along with 18 other SAISD schools.

This. The very book you want banned may be the book that turns another child into a lifelong avid reader. I have a 4th grader reading Harry Potter right now and his mom told me yesterday that he loves it and wants to read all of them.
