I'm Lithuanian. My family lives there. We won our freedom - NATO keeps it. Calling that 'imperialist' isn’t anti-war, but a moral perversion. Freedom for me, not for thee!

Total. Utter. Nonsense. Go tell that to the Estonians I met near the Russian border last December, who are fearful of threats from their aggressive neighbour. Or Ukrainians battling Putin's brutal, illegal war. This drivel is as outrageous as it is shameful.

The grooming gangs represent a hatred of the weak, a contempt for women, and a parasitic exploitation of the state’s cowardice. If Britain truly wishes to protect its children, it must stop pretending that all evils are interchangeable. restorationbulletin.com/p/a-unique-evi…

Who provides the security umbrella, at a knockdown price for collective purchase, under which we are able to protect our children and do the welfare things that Zarah Sultana MP exhorts?

A very good question from Greg Bagwell There are many more. I hope CDS can use his new, improved MSHQ to answer some of them and drive the necessary change from the new National Armaments Director.

High wind in #Jamaica is a useful distraction from the triple stabbing in #IUxbridge for BBC News (UK), Channel 4 News, Sky News et al. The hurricane is newsworthy, but British people of all backgrounds and ethnicities are far more likely to die in a knife attack here than in the Caribbean.

Tris Osborne MP UCL Grok this doesn’t sound right. We know wind and solar is relatively cheap at the margin, but when all costs, including network and backup, are included, renewables are more expensive than gas. What’s going on?

People think it must be satisfying to say "I told you so". No, it's not. It's infuriating to have spent more than 15 years not being listened to by politicians and officials.

Germany has unveiled plans to spend €377 billion to boost the size and capabilities of its army. By 2029, German defence spending will reach 3.5% of GDP, making it the world's third biggest spender after the USA and China with an estimated annual spend of €190 billion.

One of my favourite photos that I’ve taken. A bench and a lamppost at night on Primrose Hill, London. Unedited in any way. Just simple. And peaceful. Which can’t be said of much of London now. But we can enjoy the moments of peace if and when we find them. Take care and stay safe

Wayne Broadhurst, 49, who died as a result of the knife attack in Uxbridge. A council binman and well-respected member of the local community. Tragic.

Huge problems currently: how do we provide finance to start-ups; how do we incentivise their founders not to sell out early to USA competitors?

Edward Stringer🇺🇦 UK excels at R&D and (particularly) Fintech sandboxes, but ultimately we don’t have the capital and exit velocity that is available in the US. The UK should specifically at the ‘Delaware’ model - imagine if London could emulate that for EU.
