Second round of Pinna bicolor (#Razorfish) mimic collection for my Honours. So exciting to see algae growth and habitat use! Ecosystem Resilience Research Group

This week the lab has started with a trip to the Windara #shellfish reef to collect water and oyster samples 🦪 Windara was built in 2018 and is the first and largest shellfish reef in Australia. Research by Bec Sutton-Smith will assist in understanding #restoration outcomes

Not bad for my first conference! 🏆 I'm honoured to have recieved an #FRDC prize for my AMSA-NSMSS 2024 Conference talk on Pinna shellfish reefs. Thanks #AMSA2023! 🐟🦪

Congrats Brad Martin for sharing some of the #shellfishreef research going on in the Port River Estuary 🦪

Only 2 weeks left to send your expression of interest: PhD opportunity within the SouthernSharkEG and Neurobiology Lab with me, lauraryansci and #NathanHart Deadline 15th of August👇

Back from a recent trip from Kangaroo Island Lucinda Hatswell has been collecting water samples from across the island. The water samples will be assessed for #platypus eDNA to assist in detecting remnant platypus populations. 🧬

✨New paper alert!✨ Our research on the trophic role of deep-sea squid in the Great Australian Bight has been published in Frontiers - Marine Science. The study was led by Beth Jackel from Flinders University and assessed rarely encountered squid 🦑 Read the paper here: bit.ly/3R0oUz2

This week Jess Henkens and Brad Martin led a #CitizenScience mudflat monitoring workshop on Torrens Island, Port Adelaide with Green Adelaide and TAFE SA students. The trialled program is being designed to assess mudflat health and benthic biodiversity 🦀🐌
