🚨New paper alert!🚨 Our paper describing a new genus and species of Jurassic cockroach, 𝐴𝑙𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑏𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑎 𝑠𝑖𝑚𝑚𝑠𝑖, has just been published (The PalAss)! A. simmsi possesses the earliest likely occurrence of aposematic (protective) colouration in cockroaches!🪳
Guilherme Hermanson & I have a new paper today 🐢🤩🐢: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ec… We think the morphologically conservative body plan of turtles can in part be explained by allometric constraints imposed by the shell. See my thread on the 🦋-app, or also Guilherme's summary here 👇
Call for postdocs with an interest in paleoherpetology! Get in touch if you want to discuss funding opportunities to work with me at the Institut Català de Paleontologia Miquel Crusafont (Catalonia) under Juan de la Cierva, Beatriu de Pinós or Marie Skłodowska-Curie postdoctoral schemes🦎🐸🐍 #paleontology
Excited to see our study on the evolution of Mesozoic marine reptiles across the Triassic-Jurassic boundary—featuring fossils from the iconic Marine Reptile Gallery—and recently published in Evolution Journal, highlighted in the News section of the Natural History Museum website! 🤩
Was very exciting to scan these iconic fossils in the Natural History Museum with Marc Jones ! Thanks again to all the team Andrzej Wolniewicz Prof. Valentin Fischer Dr Tom Stubbs, Torsten Scheyer and Jun Liu. Our paper published in Evolution Journal is accessible if you're curious 😉 nhm.ac.uk/discover/news/…
