The Page Program offers students ages 12-18 a first-hand opportunity to visit the Capitol to observe and participate in the legislative process during the General Assembly’s 40-day legislative session. (This looks great on college applications 😉).

10/10 recommend teachers getting out of the classroom and going to see their students (past and present) participating in the things that make their hearts happy. So proud of you Nora and Quinn! 🩰

Love watching imaginations and conversations bloom when they don’t have other distractions. There was a marker tower today with my lunch bunch! 😂 #nophonezone #yondr

Today filled my cup! Students acted as campaign managers during the 1946 Three Governor’s Controversy in Georgia. I had the pleasure of hearing passionate campaign rally speeches on who the 1947 governor of Georgia should be. Can’t wait for the election results tomorrow. 😉

As I end my time in Europe, I am so appreciative of MariettaCitySchools for allowing me this opportunity to travel, collaborate with educators across the Atlantic, and build relationships. Tot ziens 🇳🇱 Au revoir 🇫🇷 Auf Wiedersehen 🇩🇪. Until we meet again. 🇺🇸

So very sorry to hear of the passing of Marietta legend Scrappy Edwards. The class of 2027 surprising him for Veteran’s Day is one of my fondest memories. Marietta was a better place these past 100+ years because he was in it. 🤍Ⓜ️🤍

Today is the most expensive American holiday. We honor all who lost their lives in service to this amazing country. 🇺🇸 We spent today in Chattanooga honoring my favorite hero, PFC Carl Layne, my grandfather, who fought proudly and bravely in WWII.

Every year I write all of my students a letter and mail it to them. This year that was 117 letters. Teachers, this is why we do it. At the end of the day, what remains are the relationships that we built and fostered in our class. My cup runneth over. 💙
