A spirit of goodness and hope. Betty White was much beloved because of who she was, and how she embraced a life well lived. Her smile. Her sense of humor. Her basic decency. Our world would be better if more followed her example. It is diminished with her passing.

We are deeply saddened to learn that iconic actor, comedian, and compassionate animal advocate @bettymwhite has passed away. Thank you for being a friend, Betty—to all of us and to the animals. ❤️

My favorite part of researching this book was learning about Betty's early years on TV, when she was on a 5 1/2 hour live show 6 days a week. Her effortlessly sharp, impeccable comic timing?
