I like to go to the East Lancs Carboot on Sunday mornings. There was a bit of competition yesterday, but these two were very friendly and didn't cause any problems. The shot was taken with my Smartphone.

I am flattered Gabriele, based in Turin Italy, messaged me to ask if he could post a gallery of my Bolton photos on his Insta account `Catastrophe` instagram.com/catastrophe.off over 784,000 followers. Images are slightly cropped because of the way Instagram handles slideshows.

In the 1980s I did a lot of work for a local magazine, The Turton Scene, It was a vehicle I used to help me get my NUJ card which was a must-have thing in those days to get into news & editorial photography. #caferoyalbooks #fistfulofbooks #bluecoatpress #framesmag

The Bolton Marathon back in the 1980s, on the far far left, is BEN photographer Martin Birchall on his stepladders, the 2nd pic shows Martin looking perplexed, probably wondering where he parked his car! Martin later went on to work for The Liverpool Echo.

In the 1980s I did a lot of work for a local magazine, The Turton Scene, the editor, the late David Innes would often tell me to shoot whatever I liked in a certain local area. I think this shot was taken on the road to Edgworth which is not far from Bolton. #caferoyalbooks

In the 1980s I did a lot of work for a local magazine, The Turton Scene, editor, the late David Innes would often say shoot anything you like in a specific local area. Can you guess the one thing I don't like in this photo of the great countryside we have around our Bolton ?

Last night I went along to Bolton Camera Club to give a talk & slide presentation about my life in photography, I was also asked to display some of my prints & self-published books. I was made very welcome by the Club President Margaret Edwards, pictured centre (Smartphone pic)
