Great first day out exploring Istanbul 🇹🇷 Walked miles!

Good luck to all the new Adult Nursing students starting UWS tomorrow, and to all our returning students continuing their degrees this week.

Love that you can take a 20 minute ferry ⛴️ ride for around 67p in Istanbul and go from Europe to Asia for the day

Visited the Yeni Cami and Blue Mosques 🕌 today then headed back over to the Asian side of the city for a lovely dinner and sunset.

Relaxed day wandering around a hot 🥵 Istanbul. Had a wee walk around the shoreline and back around the main sites, including the Grand Bazaar. Finished off with some lovely cake 🍰, baklava and Turkish tea/coffee.

Had a great meal at Aheste, a delicious Michelin recommended restaurant not far from our hotel and the Galata tower.

Today marks 25 years since I appeared on the NMC as a Registered Nurse (Adult). From new Staff Nurse in A&E NHS Blackpool Teaching Hospitals 💙🌈 to Senior Lecturer (and programme lead for BSc Adult Nursing from Sept next year) UWS it’s been an amazing career. Out tonight to celebrate 🍾
