Learned about attention residue today (Deep Work by Cal Newport). When you switch tasks a residue of your attention remains on the last task. If the last task is left incomplete, the residue is worse, and performance on the next task declines.

Reading about Psychological Safety. Sometimes the benefits of speaking up are obscure and delayed while the costs are clear and immediate. So there is a bias to "underweight the benefits and overweight the costs" of speaking up (Amy Edmondson, The Fearless Organization).
