Druw Jones has very quietly figured it out. Since June 28 (218 PAs), he has a 134 wRC+ / .864 OPS. And he's one year younger than average age for A+. In a 2022 draft filled with busts (7 guys have accumulated WAR, with very few Top 100 guys behind them), he might turn out OK.

This makes it 10 (!!) to the big leagues from the historic 2019 draft. The modern record is 11. In1990, the Yankees had 12 when you could draft juco kids before they went to 4-year schools and get their rights when they turned pro. Corbin & Nellie are the stars

Let me add the Aug 26 Shelby Miller game as a massive what-if for 1 game that might cost us. In that game, we didn't have a closer b/c we traded Shelby for cash, which pushed everyone up leading to J. Morillo blowing the game, + the Brewers had Shelby close the game for them!

I'm wondering how Cristian Mena will factor into a #Dbacks rotation this year. I view him as having the highest floor of the current crop of AAA/AA prospects. Having 3 plus breaking balls to pair with a decent fastball, he could be lethal!

This list has 4 Top 100 D'Backs: 47) Waldschmidt 54) Lawlar 76) Crisantes and 88) Caldwell. Which really highlights the underrated strength of the system - the guys that just miss some of these lists, like Eagen, Dix, Bratt, Troy, Luis, Groover, Cunningham....

The Baseball America D'Backs Top 10 dropped. Although we're light on top 100 guys, the fact that guys like M. Bratt (2.92 xFIP, -3.5 years for AA), L. Groover (122 wRC+, -0.9 for AA) & J. Luis (110 wRC+, -2.3 years for A+) aren't on the top 10 tells you how elite our depth is.

Tommy Troy is a great example of how Top 100 prospect rankings are flawed. They are basically a formula (Pedigree x Early Performance). Tommy was ranked #79 by BA initially, but fell off after a down first year. A great 2025 won't elevate him back even though it probably should.
