A truly special and emotional moment at the Capelin Symposium 2022 (Capelin Symposium Bergen 2022). A celebration of the amazing contributions of Harald Gjøsæter to capelin research, and mentoring of literally generations of capelin scientists. A true giant of capelin science. #Capelin2022

So grateful we were able to attend the @ICES_ASC Capelin Symposium Bergen 2022 Havforskningsinstituttet! Thanks so much to all the organizers and for the early career researcher funding for our two Ph.D. students ashleymtripp and Laura M Bliss (咏梅), Ph.D.. We loved our time and learned so much, let's do it more often!

If you see capelin rolling, don’t forget to submit the observation to ecapelin.ca & post on social media using #capelinroll2024. To submit, you will need a photo, location, date/time, & comments. These observations support long-term research on this critical species!
