And when you do get to court, judges and juries don’t understand the crime. I was told because I had my own job and career he couldn’t have been controlling me. The judge simply didn’t understand how someone who was intelligent could have fallen into such an abusive relationship

A week on from the news that the government is accepting the recommendations and implementing free court sentencing remarks for free and I feel like a weight has been lifted. The amount of victims that will be helped by this is immense. Just taking a moment to appreciate that!
