Dave West I was pushing this at the start of the pandemic, would have been a brilliant model for compliance and education and an antidote to SoMe misinformation. Five years for adoption not bad in NHS terms 😂

Dave West This model is proving its worth in NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly 9 teams consisting of a total of 57 workers now deployed. 90% improvement in wellbeing, data now beginning to indicate reductions in community, secondary & social care activity. The real life stories further enhance the impact.

Think of how powerful it could be if integrated with social care, and worth reflecting why the idea started with council funding which the NHS then picked up. Big clue on how prevention needs to work!

Are we going to return to a regulator like Monitor? “Not necessarily,” says Streeting, but adds that he believes in more freedom and flexibility for providers.

Dave West (@davewwest) 's Twitter Profile Photo

"i wouldn't want to see health and social care merged" - Wes Streeting remarkably clear on this topic, saying the two overlap but are best managed separately. Where many have have preferred to seek integration of funding and delivery model a la Andy Burnham

We at Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) are hearing of more local recruitment freezes affecting physio at more NHS trusts in England - this is so short sighted given the declared need for physios. The NHS in England will lose newly qualified PTs to the employers or other countries unless there is action.

Can’t see anything in the data to suggest the NHS is about to escape its normal seasonal pattern of increasing waiting lists over spring / summer either. Wld move 18w target beyond reach. Next month’s stats cld absolutely shred HMG’s narrative of NHS improvement

A leaked Department of Health and Social Care briefing for ministers incl Wes Streeting, detailed concerns about the effect the 5 main companies — SpaMedica, CHEC, Newmedica, Optegra and ACES — were having on existing NHS services.

hsj.co.uk/integrated-car… There is still fury and consternation about the decision to cut the running costs of integrated care boards in half, but plans to consolidate the number of ICBs from 42 to between 23 and 28 are well advanced.
