We showcased the world’s very first wood leather soccer ball at the Osaka Expo. Developed by a team at UBC, wood leather is a BC innovation. While this prototype won’t be used in any FIFA matches soon, it represents BC’s creativity and leadership in a sustainable economy.

Spent the last two days in Kuala Lumpur strengthening trade ties that support good-paying BC jobs — including our partnership with Petronas, investors in the largest private sector investment in BC history.    Partnerships like this position BC to be Canada’s economic engine.

Last night an event for MLA Nina Krieger was specifically targeted by protestors. Everyone in Canada has the right to protest and express their views. But it is never ok to target someone because of who they are.

We stand with Nina and anyone in the Jewish community feeling targeted. We unequivocally denounce this act of harassment and antisemitism.

BC has what the world needs — and the ports to deliver. In Seoul, we’re strengthening trade to support jobs in BC. A new UBC–POSTECH partnership will lead innovations in quantum tech, AI, life sciences and sustainability. BC is going to be Canada’s economic engine.

British Columbia has deep ties with Gyeonggi Province and strong relationships with partners like Samsung. We are working together to strengthen our sustainable economy and support jobs and the communities that depend on them.

Everyone deserves to live without threats to their safety. I’m asking Prime Minister Carney to list the Lawrence Bishnoi gang as a terrorist group in Canada, which will give police additional tools they need to stop and prevent the extortion of Canadians.

People who live and travel in BC’s coastal communities rely on BC Ferries to get where they need to be. They know that we need new ferries in place now. We’ll work with the federal government to bolster our shipbuilding sector so future ferries can be built right here at home.

Canadian provinces, including Ontario, Alberta and BC have experienced an increase in extortion crimes in recent years. I’m asking Prime Minister Mark Carney to take action to designate groups engaged in extortion and related crimes as terrorist entities under the Criminal Code.
