Instead of bracing ourselves and hoping that the protests for justice die down, let’s come together and deal with the racism, inequity, and corruption that require us to protest in the first place. Let’s not block out the cries for healing. Let’s answer them.

It is expected that the Grand Jury decision in the Breonna Taylor case will be announced soon. I have no inside information on the exact timing or what that decision will be, but there are some things that are clear to me at this point. 1/11

I know we can dismantle structural racism. I know we can abolish generational poverty. I know we can create a society where every person has the ability to surpass their dreams. That’s what I’m fighting for.

I recorded this Wednesday, and it has been sitting with me. I was hit with tear gas earlier this year during protests, and to hear Louisville Police threaten chemical agents on a community crying out for justice is unspeakable. Chemical agents should be banned from police use.

Protesters telling media to go home and yelling at photographers for taking pictures. Both protesting and reporting are constitutionally protected activities.
