This month, I chose to return to Syria and canceled my asylum in Belgium. The fall of the regime ended my deepest fear. Despite everything, I still believe in the people who rose up with hope. I do not trust the authority, but I trust Syrians. I return home.

The attitude of many former 'revolutionary activists' on social media who now believe any criticism of the state and its glorious leaders is akin to immoral treachery is a great tribute to the ideological training of the Assad regime.
