Can I just say, that Dr Danny Bate knows his stuff

Responding to anything vaguely etymological I see on Twitter with "Dr Danny Bate is this true??"

l shall be adding this to my "to read" list. I've found many of Dr Danny Bate's articles philologically fascinating and full of surprising linguistic connections. He's a first rate scholar and a damn fine chap who's previously taken the time to answer highly niche questions for me

There's one day left of the Waterstones 25% discount on upcoming books, which I've made use of to get the books of great writers like Fergus Butler-Gallie. My own love letter to English spelling is included too, giving you 25% off four millennia of human history! waterstones.com/book/why-q-nee…

A while ago I had great fun talking about Ancient South Arabian with the great Dr Danny Bate. Happy to say that the podcast episode has now gone online. shows.acast.com/a-language-i-l…

New ALILI! To make up for an unexpected podcast pause, Ep. 38 is four languages for the price of one. Imar Koutchoukali 🥃🟦🌿 🌐 discusses the Old South Arabian group, included among them the language of the Queen of Sheba...
