Its been lovely to have cricket finally back and to kick off with a couple of wins, but one thing I think we can all agree on, Play-Cricket is shite compared to CricHQ!

Not the best weekend for our teams, with the 1s, 2s and 3s all heavily beaten, it was up to the 4s to avoid the washout weekend, which they managed in exciting style Vs Blackley 2s, Blackley batted first and started well, but spin twins Mulkeen Jnr and Bish took 6/55 in the.. 1/2

Middle overs to restrict them to 143. We started brightly but collapsed from 76/2 to 95/8 Before Dad and Lad Mulkeens took us home in quick fashion Joe (20*) and Dan Jnr (40*). Let's hope for better results overall next weekend!

We can't wait for this, SCCC for the trophy!!

This Friday at Springhead CCC we take on old NMCL rivals ELPMCC in the inaugural NMCL Cup. We also have a games night going on with various events, everyone welcome to see old friends battle it out and to see if you can become SCCC Boules, Table Tennis or Pool champion!

Rain cut the first ever NMCL Cup final short last night with ELPMCC posting 138ao and SCCC 40/2 off 4 in reply. A bowl out between the two lads who got wet putting covers on whilst we sheltered, resulted in a 1-0 ELPM win, well done lads, we'll win it back in 2025

Mixed fortunes on Sunday saw our 3s lose out to Heyside Cricket but our 4s win Vs Prestwich CTBC 5s. The highlight however was 3 Teens and 12 year old getting 50s! Josh Shaw 62*, Dylan Shaw 51, Joe Mulkeen 50*, Connor King 53*!! Brilliant to See🏏

What started out as a laugh has now become a full blown 4th team tradition... At least it's easy to set the field

Huge thanks to Ashton Ladysmith CC for coming over to give us a bank holiday T20 yesterday, we ended up with a packed beer garden watching a very good game of cricket played in fantastic spirits, SCCC took the slightly manufactured win thanks to Ladysmith being great sports with our juniors!

Our annual race night is next Friday 6th September, it will feature once again a live action race to start the evening (some unfit cricketers dressed as jockeys doing a 2km obstacle run) There'll also be play your cards right, a raffle and karaoke! Everyone welcome, free entry
