Interesting to see Inoke Afeaki putting his hand up for the city council. Not so interesting to hear his election pitch is “Hurricanes number 1”. But I reckon that’s worth a yarn.

The Bairstow stumping is a non-event, it’s not controversial. It was a regulation dismissal caused by the batter’s mistake. And it was not a defining factor in the game. England were outplayed and never really in it. This is a deflection from that.

Regardless of what happened, it’s time for Tory Whanau to come out now and show some leadership and de-escalate the backlash towards the Wellington restaurant at the centre of this controversy.

Totally agree. Complete non-event. Run of the mill dismissal - England playing it up to deflect from the fact they’ve been outplayed. Bairstow himself attempted a similar dismissal in the same game. This is holier-than-this hypocrisy at its worst. Hard to like this England side.
