We’ve established the UK’s first Equine Nursing Committee to help develop clinical governance & support decision-making on issues affecting our 22 equine sites! It's formed of CVS Equine practice nursing team members from across the country. They have a broad base of experience.

Check out our new small animal practice in Crown Point Shopping Centre, Denton. We’ve fitted it with the latest facilities & equipment – including 3 consulting rooms, an operating theatre, specialist dental suite, in-house lab & digital x-ray facilities to care for local pets.

48 of our practices are running a clinical improvement project to improve the use of cardiac ultrasound scans in first opinion diagnosis & treatment. Cardiac disease is common affecting 10% dogs & 15% cats. Echocardiography is a key tool to diagnose & stage cardiac disease.

Our Regional Clinical Lead Deb Komianos is working with @UniversityofBristol on new antimicrobial stewardship research. They’ll collect practice data on antimicrobial prescriptions to assess the impact of AMS programmes in otitis externa, acute diarrhoea & cat bite abscess.

We wouldn’t want to be without our animals this Xmas. And all our colleagues work tirelessly to save lives. Harvey was diagnosed with multicentric lymphoma in April '22 by Kasia Purzycka @LumbryParkVeterinarySpecialists. He's now one of the hospital’s longest lymphoma survivors🐶

Rufio recently underwent life-saving surgery @ChesterGatesVeterinarySpecialists after a diagnosis of rare Conn’s syndrome. The Internal Medicine team surgically removed his affected adrenal gland, requiring meticulous planning, high-level anaesthesia & expert post-surgical care.

A huge shout out to all apprentices on our @ChesterVeterinaryTrainingCentre Level 2 Certificate in Veterinary Care Support. Their pass rate for the end point assessment has been 100% and 83% of students have achieved distinctions so far. We commend you for your hard work!

Good news! Receptionist colleagues undertaking our Level 4 Client Care Certificate will be eligible for Associate Veterinary Receptionist status by @BVRA. It’s the first time they've recognised an external group’s own training programme as adequate enough to award AVR status.

Teamwork! 30 representatives attended CVS Equine Antimicrobial Stewardship Workshop in Banbury. Research & QI to date were reviewed & the team worked together on next steps. Actions will include client education, veterinary training, reviewing guidelines & conducting research.

Our @EquineVeterinaryCentre is improving owner follow-ups after out-of-hours visits by CVS @Equicall. The project aims to provide better aftercare to patients, improve the continuity of care & increase support to clients. Since June 2023 they have achieved a 82% follow up rate!
