In Belgium, a country that has been badly hit with the virus, there are signs of improvement. For the first time, people leaving hospital have outnumbered the new admissions in the last 24 hours. There is no question that social distancing is working across the world.

In the North West, there are currently 199 Coronavirus patients in hospital. At the peak it was almost 3000. No sign of any spike in admissions. There are no reasons to panic in that data. But please be sensible, otherwise we're going to see more and more of this.

In England there are currently 835 Coronavirus patients in hospital down from 17000, with no sign of any increase. 70 patients are in mechanical ventilation beds, it was nearly 3000. Up to now these new cases aren't translating into more hospitalisations. That's good news.
