US Senate vacancies are filled at the next general election, but the Governor appoints an individual to fill the seat until that time. According to the 17th Amendment of the US Constitution: “When vacancies happen in the representation of any state in the Senate, the executive

Yesterday, I and my team Florida Department of State spoke with legislative leaders from Arizona including the Senate President and Speaker of the House about how Florida's election code allows for the timely and accurate counting of ballots. We are happy to share the Florida blueprint.

This Special Election is being conducted as quickly as statutorily possible. We are committed to ensuring this election is held as soon as we are allowed to hold it by state law. This special election will be faster than we have ever done before.

Today I presided over the meeting of presidential electors as required by the US Constitution to certify Florida’s 30 electoral college votes for Donald J. Trump for President and JD Vance for Vice President.

Congratulations to @AGAshleyMoody on her appointment to the US Senate. She will be a great representative of our State. I also am deeply grateful to Ron DeSantis for his confidence in me and consideration for this appointment.

I was in DC today. My flight from Reagan back home took off about 40 minutes before the crash. Thank you to those who knew I was traveling and for checking in on me. It’s very sobering. Prayers for the victims. 🙏🏻

On first review of the President’s EO it is right on point. It provides fixes for several of the issues we have raised before Congress. It also incorporates many of the election reforms Florida is already doing. This is BIG!! 💪🏻

Today in DC I joined SOS from MS, LA and OH to meet with the White House to discuss state level implementation of the President’s election integrity EO. The plan is simple, all states should adopt the Florida blueprint!

Another productive day in DC. The cooperation with the Administration on election integrity has been tremendous. Florida had to sue the last administration to get data that they were lawfully required to provide. This one is providing it to states fast and for free.

On Memorial Day I reread “The Gardner” by Kipling. An account of a mother’s grief over her fallen son and God’s infinite love for us all. Kipling lost his own son in WWI and knew the personal pain of sacrifice in war. Today, pray for peace. 🙏🏻🕊️ kiplingsociety.co.uk/tale/the-garde…

I am saddened to learn of the passing of President Thrasher. He embodied what it means to be a statesman. RIP 🙏🏻

Working with Jamie Grant we made the DTOM tag a reality. The proceeds from this tag, about 100K per month, directly support veterans in Florida. Thank you to Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs for helping keep Florida the most vet friendly state in the country!

From North Africa to Sicily and Italy an American Army came of age in less than three years, culminating in the Normandy invasion on this date 81 years ago today. D-Day marked the beginning of the end of the war in Europe. Let us never forget their courage in the cause of liberty
