A fine thread below on Laura Secord’s bravery—first a Queenston Heights and then in her famous walk. These are her grave and monument in Niagara; the first at Lundy’s Lane, the second at Queenston. A Canadian hero.

"It's an absolute honour...a dream come true"🗣️🐎💂 It's just the third time in history, a non-UK unit takes over duties as The King's Life Guard. The duty was passed from the UK's Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment to the Canadian regiment, Lord Strathcona's Horse.

A true servant of the Crown and of this country. And a colonel-in-chief who clearly loved his Royal Canadian Regiment. (Along with his many other appointments and patronages.)

Today is an important day in French history, as we know. On 14 July 1815 Napoleon submitted to the Prince Regent by letter and would soon leave for exile. GSTK.

Thank you and goodbye to our friends from the Canadian Army who temporarily took over the duty of The King’s Life Guard at Horse Guards from Household Cavalry this month with inimitable style and aplomb. You were awesome and we will miss you!

The meeting of a lifetime. Soldiers from Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) (LdSH(RC)), who are currently representing the Canadian Army as the King's Life Guard, had the rare opportunity to meet with His Majesty the King, the regiment’s Colonel-in-Chief.
