Anti-fascist protesters in South Yorkshire say they're pleased so many turned out to oppose the far right last night. Peaceful demonstrations took place in Sheffield & Rotherham in areas where it had been feared there could be trouble after information circulated online.

It has been heartening to see communities across the UK uniting against hatred and racism yesterday. The racially motivated rioting and unrest over recent days has been shocking and saddening and we extend our support to all who are feeling afraid, unsettled or unwelcome. (1/3)

3/5 The Home Office has decided to allow carriers to accept EUSS Biometric Residence Cards (BRCs) expiring on or after 31 December 2024 as valid evidence of permission to travel until at least 31 March 2025 and this date will be kept under review.

4/5 Pre-Settled/Settled Status holders travelling in the early part of 2025 are advised to continue carrying their expired BRCs. Pre-Settled Status/Settled Status approval letters cannot be used to evidence immigration status, but can be useful to interact with Home Office.

5/5 When travelling in and out the UK after 31/12/2024, take with you: · Your expired BRC; · A printed copy of your pre-settled/settled status approval letter; · A screenshot or printed digital status page; · A share code generated before departing.
