Last week, ICAN & Nonviolent Peaceforce hosted a panel discussion at #PeaceCon2024: “In Pursuit of Responsible Partnership: Engaging local #peacebuilders as equal & powerful stakeholders.” Key discussion points ⬇️

#WASL partners Clotilda Andiensa (CAGEAD), Tahani Yaghshi, & USAID Rosarie Tucci highlighted the exclusion of women #peacebuilders from key peace processes. Highlighting challenges such as limited funding, restrictive project proposals, lack of long-term support, & patriarchal norms.

Panelists emphasized the need for: ⭐️ recognizing women #peacebuilders' expertise & knowledge, 🤝 inclusive partnerships, 📈 long-term, adaptable & flexible #funding, 🖊️ simplified reporting processes, 💲 economic empowerment, 👥 & engaging men & youth in #peacebuilding.
