Schools like University of California, Harvard University, Brown University, and Dartmouth 🌲 have abandoned billions worth of investments in fossil fuels. On-campus, students organizations like @DivestHarvard are a key reason for these divestments. We can pressure NC State University to divest as well.

When University of California divested from the fossil fuel industry, they gave financial reasons for their actions. NC State University’s investment in fossil fuels is not only bad for the climate, it’s financially unwise.

Fun fact, the $62 million NC State University has invested in fossil fuels has the same value as if every person in South Dakota bought a share of ExxonMobil stock. And you’d still have about $3 million left over.

Some of the most powerful people in the world are at #COP26 to address the clear and substantial threat to the human race that is climate change. The scientific community reached a general consensus on this issue years ago. NC State University has no excuse to invest in fossil fuels.

World leaders are at #COP26 to try and solve the climate crisis. We need to globally #divest from the fossil fuel industry. NC State University and all other Universities need do this.
