Classic Film TV Cafe I watched Showboat once again last night. Didn’t plan on watching the whole thing but every time I tried to leave the room another great song began and I was riveted. Talk about a captive audience! Hard to beat that score and cast.
Classic Film TV Cafe Capote (2005) & Infamous (2006). Both excellent! As much as I loved Hoffman, Jones was astounding.
Classic Film TV Cafe Raid on Entebbe & Victory at Entebbe. Both 1976
Classic Film TV Cafe I always put Antz (9/1998) and A Bugs Life (11/1998) in that category
Classic Film TV Cafe One of my all-time faves. First saw it on the big screen in the '80s. 👍 As for The Wanderers, I only bought the DVD a few years ago. Not a bad film.
Classic Film TV Cafe VICE VERSA (1988) is loosely based on the same-named 1882 novel as three previous British theatrical films, including this one from 1948, though the author was not credited in Hollywood. youtube.com/watch?v=xn5PjH…
Classic Film TV Cafe I was SO in live with Cochise!! Warriors is my high school team name, so we'd chant at games "Warriors, came out to plaaaay"
Classic Film TV Cafe I saw Blair Witch with a friend & we were both underwhelmed too. There was a lightning storm as we drove home, and both of us commented how the weather was scarier than the movie.
Classic Film TV Cafe Dr. Strangelove and Failsafe had the same topic - nuclear war triggered by fanatics or error, and were released within months. One serious, the other satire.
Classic Film TV Cafe ARMAGEDDON and DEEP IMPACT both came out around the same time and revolved around an Extinction Level Event asteroid heading for Earth. Both are great for vastly different reasons and both absolutely nailed what they were going for.
