This is really nice, an article about Thomas Ray Garcia’s literary debut, The River Runs nominated for an International Latino Book Award. We're both in the Best Collection of Short Stories category, me with Loteria. Congratulations! riograndeguardian.com/valley-author-… via Rio Grande Guardian

Vanishing Daughters by Cynthia “Cina” Pelayo is a beautiful book that stays with you. Briar's family home is filled with her grief since her mother died. It's another blend of fairy tales, horror, and Chicago history that includes an exploration of grief and how we survive it. Recommended.

goodreads.com/review/show/57… The book's concept was five-star, all on its own. However, the stories were fantastic! Yes, they are flash fiction length, but they capture a complex universe and establish character development well. I enjoyed the whole collection. Cynthia “Cina” Pelayo

Oh my God. I forgot to close this. 118 of you?! I'm going to *try* to see if I can pull this off. I said 50, but I think we all need Halloween cheer. I'm taking no more entries. I'll confirm with you all via email. Give me a few days.

I’m very happy to be working with Kaye Publicity again for VANISHING DAUGHTERS. In terms of tour, I’ll be staying within the greater Chicagoland area. For any future appearances or signings my focus is on bookstores, libraries and literary festivals.

I woke up at 2am and wrote this poem, this 7 page poem (goes fast when performed). It’s not what I intended to read but it’s an original poem. I hope it’s something that we need to hear, about growth and change and pain and hope. It’s called “2 AM.” Reading it tomorrow here.
