Chr16q22 has the highest density of #shorttandemrepeats in the entire genome! Fascinatingly, it harbours 3 repeat expansion disease loci associated with ataxia (SCA4,SCA31, SCA51). In Movement Disorders Journal, we characterise two repeat loci: shorturl.at/EPolJ & shorturl.at/W4rWN
