What's the opposite of fearmongering?

So a (very) rough count suggests I've written about 750 comics. Which makes sense. One a week for 20 years with 2 weeks off a year would be 1000, but I've also written TV, video games and other stuff, so 750 sounds about right. These are the first (2004) and the latest (2024).

Telling my cat, who has been wailing for food for the past hour while I try to work, that he is making me very sad has not worked. I have resorted to putting him in the Shame Basket (which I just christened with that name) in the hopes that humiliation will prove more effective.

What happened with the Bermuda Triangle is, the aliens were like, seriously, y’all, we’re being lazy. They’re getting wise. Spread out, kill some billionaires with waterspouts, make a deal with the orcas. Get creative. And hey, does it have to be a triangle? Maybe a trapezoid?

Awful to hear that Bernie Mireault is lost to us by taking his own life. The comics industry seems to have a disproportionate amount of this kind of thing. At a time when there seems to be a push to eliminate creativity and the people who have it, please take care of each other.

I read superhero comics before this, picking up issues here and there if they caught my eye. But this was the week I started collecting them. ASM and Cap. Didn’t miss an issue after that until the original numbering ended and I decided I didn’t need *everything.*

So long, Cass. Ruth and I will miss the hell out of you. We’re losing way too many of the good ones, and the bad ones just thrive. This isn’t just the worst timeline, it’s the Dark Multiverse.
