Out with this amazing group yesterday talking to residents across West Thornton about the issues they see in their local area and across Croydon. Residents across the area feel let down by huge increases to the council tax with a sense of decline in their local services. One

Really glad to see these garages in New Addington fixed after ages of dilapidation and fly-tipping. Now, the site is safe and secure. Thanks to Corina and other residents for fighting this with me, Kola Agboola and Natasha Irons MP, and to the Council for finally seeing to it!

Great to see that the leadership has listened on winter fuel and they’re keeping it in place for pensioners on incomes of £35,000 or less. That’s exactly what our party is about: standing up for those who need it most. Big thanks to everyone who raised this on the doorstep.

Three good things from the Labour government today!

I said we would drive the biggest increase in social and affordable housing in a generation. Today, we have.

We were at the doorstep of Croydon residents they are very disappointed about how they have been let down by Mayor Perry, whose council finances have worsened. He was supposed to fix the finances, but he failed. The government had to intervene to appoint commissioners.

We are unlocking hundreds of thousands of new homes through a new National Housing Bank.     The National Housing Bank will unlock billions in private sector investment and turbocharge housebuilding.    #GetBritainBuilding
